Oddly enough, divorce records can actually be obtained in an office under the Department of State Health Services. This is because the Vital Statistics Unit–which is responsible to for keeping records of birth, death, marriage, and divorce–is part of the said department.

The quickest way to obtain divorce records would be make a request through the office state portal TexasOnline.com. Right under online services, click on the link to order divorce records (same link as birth, death, and marriage records).

It is important that you accurately recall the duration of your divorce as well as accurately provide the name of your former spouse. The request will cost twenty dollars, and the verification letter will be delivered to your preferred address within ten to fifteen business days.
