One of the most annoying parts of an ingrown hair is that generally it is in hard to reach places, there is no ryme or reason why an ingrown hair will suddenly appear, generally some people are pre-disposed to this condition and have an ongoing occurrence of ingrown hairs. Other people for whatever reasons will only have an ingrown hair appear occasionally or even only once. There are several methods of removing ingrown hairs but i find the following is simple and easy to follow. It can be done in the privacy of your own home and doesnt require a visit to your local doctor.

1. Before trying to remove an ingrown hair , we must prepare the area over a few days, this can be done by exfoliating the skin with an over the counter soap or treatment, treat the area for at least 3 days , applying the exfoliate cream or soap, this will clear the area of any dead skin or dirt and grime.

2. Now what i find works the best to remove an ingrown hair is to use a general acne cream on the area for around 3 days, this will normally reduce the swelling and allow for the hair to gradually work its way free and after a few days the redness and soreness will subside and disappear.

3. If the acne cream fails to dislodge the hair, try the following and remove it your self. Fill your washbasin with water and add some salt solution into the water, over the next hour use a warm towel dipping it in the salt solution water , allow it sit over the ingrown hair for the next hour, this will help loosen the area and now make it possible for you to pull the hair out with a good pair of tweezers. Remember to try and get the tweezers down to the base of the hair as we dont want the hair to snap. After you have finished pulling the hair out, continue to bath with the salt solution of the next few days.
