Do you know that one of the most versatile fruits in the world is the pumpkin? You can create almost any type of food with it. You can have soup, stew, or even pie for dessert. You can also carve directly into pumpkins to create Jack-o-Lanterns during Halloween. What’s more, there is no need to throw the seeds away. Today, you can learn how to bake pumkin seeds.

Here are the ways on how to bake pumkin seeds:

Remove the seeds from the flesh. Since you are only going to deal with the seeds, you can just remove them while you can keep away the flesh. If you want to use the latter for something else, make sure that you can place it on an airtight container. Just do not allow a lot of days to pass by without using it.

Remove the membrane. When you are going to get the seeds, they do not come out too clean. You can just remove the membrane that envelops the pumpkin seeds. You can make use of clean running water. If you are concerned about bacteria or other microorganisms, you can utilize filtered or mineral water.

After rinsing, place the pumpkin seeds on a clean towel or kitchen paper. Allow them to dry for around 5 minutes or until the seeds have already lost their water or are completely dry.

Prepare the materials and ingredients you are going to need. There are a number of items that you need to use when baking the pumpkin seeds. One of these is the baking sheet, where you are going to lay down the seeds. You also need butter or oil to make sure that the seeds do not end up sticking into the pan. Do not forget to make use of aprons and mittens when you are baking. You may not remember how hot the sheets and the baked pumpkin seeds could be.

Preheat the oven. So it does not take you a long time to bake the pumpkin seeds, you can start preheating the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Add oil into the baking sheet. As mentioned, you should not have any non-stick pan. This is so it will be easy for you to remove the seeds once they are already baked. You can also assure yourself that they do not turn out to be burned. You do not want to serve yourself and even your guests with overcooked goodies. Besides butter, you can use vegetable oil.

Bake the pumpkin seeds. Once you have already prepared the pumpkin seeds, you can start baking them. You simply need to place the tray inside the oven. Usually, it will take you around 10 to 20 minutes before you can have baked pumpkin seeds. However, the exact time will have to depend on how many seeds you are planning to bake.

Remove the baked item. After the pumpkin seeds are baked, you can already remove them from the oven. Do not eat them right away, though. Wait for a couple of minutes before you do, so you can enjoy them with ease.

How to cook sweet potatoes doesnt have to be a mystery, follow these easy steps and you will be serving up a sweet potato mash that will make you the envy of your friends and family. This dish has been around for decades and is typically something that is served on a cold wintery night with other side vegetables to compliment its sweet and buttery taste. Also remember when serving this sweet potato mash only use very small portions as its rich soft buttery taste will consume all who eat it, keep them wanting more.

1. The following portions are if you are serving 8 people, adjust quantities use to suit the amount of people, I have used this on many occasions at BBQ’s and it is always a hit, remember small portions are the trick. Now peel and wash 4 large sweet potatoes , cut into cubes and weigh. Now peel and cut 2 of your favourite white potatoes, cut these into cubes so that you end up with half the weight of your sweet potatoes.

2. Wash and clean sweet potatoes before boiling in large pot of water, allow to become soft, drain off water, now what we need to here is weigh all the potatoes before mashing, so if we have ended up with a 800grams of potato we need 800grams of butter, this is where your sweet potato mash comes alive.

3. Combine the equal amount of butter with the potato and start mashing, this will form a buttery , rich , sweet potato mash, as I stated earlier , small portions are only required as you would imagine it is very rich in taste, generally I only serve a maximum level tablespoon or a half ice-cream scoop. You can guarantee that they will be wanting more of your sweet potato mash.
